1)DURONTO EXPRESS

         It is a category of long distance trains run by Indian Railways. The special feature of this train is that they run non-stop from source to destination, excluding technical halts. These are faster than Rajdhani express. The Chennai to Pune Duronto express runs at a speed of 130kmph , while Ernakulam Duronto express runs at a speed of 120kmph. A feature exclusive to Duronto  is LHB sleeper coaches. The sleeper class is the most common coach and usually ten or more coaches could be attached. Duronto means "restless" in Bengali language. These train coaches have characteristic yellow-green livery. Duronto express services connects several metros and major state capitals of India. Duronto express holds the record for fastest long distance train in India. The Ernakulam-Lokmanya Tilak Duronto express cover a distance of 1599km in a time of 20h55m.It has catering  facilities. Duronto expresses do not have seating arrangements as all coaches are sleeper coaches.


 



2)RAJDHANI EXPRESS

               It is a passenger service connecting New Delhi with other state capitals. In hindi Rajdhani means "Capital". This was introduced in 1969 for providing fast connections to the capital of India from other capital cities of various states. This train gets the highest priority in Indian Railways network. Fully air conditioned coaches. Depending on the duration and timing of the journey, these could include lunch, high tea, dinner, morning tea and breakfast. The passengers are provided with complimentary meals during the journey. Almost all Rajdhani trains offer three class of accommodation. The 3 classes of accommodation in Rajdhani express are  first class ac with 2 or 4 berth lockable bedrooms, second class ac 2-tier with open system berths but provided with curtains and reading lamps, second class ac 3-tier with no curtains and reading lamps. Early Rajdhani also had chair cars as well. Currently there are 18 pairs of Rajdhani express trains.




 

3)SHATABDI EXPRESS

                     These are a series of fast passenger trains used by Indian Railways to connect Metro cities with other cities with importance to tourism , business , pilgrimage. These are day trains and they return to the station of origin on the same day. This express gets the second highest priority in Indian Railway network. The Bhopal Shatabdi express is the second fastest train in India, which clocks a speed of 150kmph.Shatabdi express trains offers fast connectivity with only few intermediate stops. They are fully air-conditioned and of a much higher standard than most Indian trains.




4)GATIMAAN EXPRESS

                       Gatimaan express is an India's first semi high speed train that runs between Delhi and Agra. It operates at a max speed of 160kmph and is the fastest train in India till date. The average journey time is 1hr 40min with an average speed of 112kmph. The train was launched on 5th April,2016.In this train an executive tickets cost Rs1500 (US$22) and an AC chair car ticket cost Rs750 (US$11).
The train has 2 executive coaches and eight AC chair car coaches. The train is equipped with bio-toilets, fire alarms, GPS based passenger information system and automatic sliding door. The train has train hostesses for service and the passenger gets free wifi and multimedia content. The Gatimaan Express is hauled by a WAP-5 electric locomotive. The locomotive is equipped with TPWS(train protection and warning system).
