LHB COACHES( LINKE HOFMANN BUSCH)
Passenger compartments of Indian Railways that are developed by Linke Hofmann Busch of Germany and produced by rail coach factory in Kapurthala,India. These coaches are designed for speeds upto 160kmph sometimes to 200kmph. They have been tested upto a speed of 180kmph. Their length is 23.54m and has a width of 3.24m by having these dimensions passenger capacity increases. These coaches are made of up of stainless steel and interiors are made of aluminium which helps to reduce the weight.These type of coaches are used in superfast express trains like Rajdhani,Shatabdi and Duronto express.They are considered to be 'anti-telescopic' which means they donot get turned over or flip over in case of collision.Each coache also has an 'advanced pneumatic disc braking system for efficient braking at higher speeds.The improved suspension system of the LHB coaches ensure more riding comfort for passengers compared to conventional coaches.The air conditioning of LHB coaches are is of higher capacity than that of normal coaches and is controlled by microprocessor which is said to give passengers better comfort during summer and winter seasons.They are relatively quieter than conventional coaches.
ICF BLUE
In 1955 the now defunct swiss car and elevator manufacturing company of schlieren designed and delivered brand new models of coaches to be used across Indian Railways.These fully iron and steel coaches were a world apart from wooden framed coaches used until then,featuring the most advanced technology of the time: coaches of integral,anti-telescoping design,very rugged utilitarian and functional.After technology transfer,the integral coach factory at Perambur (ICF), Chennai started to produce coaches and bogies.These coaches are known as ICF coaches.
