GARIB RATH


Garib Rath literally means poor peoples chariot. This is a air conditioned train started by Indian Railways to provide subsidized price air conditioned long distance travel to passengers. The fares are less than two third of the fares for air conditioned class on other trains. The maximum speed of this is 130kmph. It is significantly slower than the other high speed trains.
Only seating and three tier accommodation is provided in Garib Rath trains. It was launched in the year 2005. There are almost 26 train services of this kind active in Indian Railway network. The maiden journey of this kind of train started from Saharsa (Bihar) to Amritsar (Punjab). In Garib Rath trains no free bedding or food is provided. In India Garib Rath express is one of the best trains, its popular for its timing and comfort
