Humsafar express are completely 3-tier AC sleeper trains designed by Indian Railways, these are going to be overnight trains. First service of Humsafar express started from Gorakhpur to Anand Vihar on 16th December 2016. These trains will feature side curtains like 2 AC coaches. LED screen display to show information about stations and train speeds. These will feature vending machines for tea, coffee and milk, charging ports, bio-toilets in compartments. It will feature safety measures such as smoke alarms and fire extinguisher. Exterior of the coaches will have a futuristic look with the use of vinyl sheets. The train also features a heating chamber as well as refrigerating box. There are about 16 trains of this class operated by the Indian Railways. The berths will be more comfortable than the pervious 3- tier AC sleeper coaches.
