 TEJAS EXPRESS


Tejas express will  be a semi high speed train of the Indian Railways to be introduced with modern on board facilities. Tejas express is set to roll out in this year. The coaches are manufactured at Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. The newly designed coaches are capable of running at speeds of 200kmph (120mph) but due to constraints related to rail tracks these coaches will run at a speed of 160kmph (99mph). The first rake comprising of 19 coaches including sixteen non-executive and two executive chair cars besides one power car. Coaches will have bio-vacuum toilets, water level indicators, tap sensors, hand dryers, integrated braille displays, LED TV for each passenger with phone sockets, local cuisine, celebrity chef menu, Wi-Fi, tea and coffee vending machine, magazines, snack table, CCTV cameras, fire and smoke detection and suppression system. The fares will be 20% to 30% more than Shatabdi fares. The three routes planned for Tejas express are: Anand Vihar Terminal-Lucknow Junction, Delhi-Chandigarh, Mumbai CST-Karmali.
